A traditional Chinese gaiwan tea set made for Rare Tea in pure white ceramic porcelain.

With some help from our friends in China, we have created a kit for you to use at home or on the move. It comes carefully packed in a compact travelling case so you can always have it with you.

The set contains:

  • A smart padded travelling case with zip
  • A gaiwan teapot (100ml/4 fl oz) complete with lid
  • A serving jug (150ml/5.5 fl oz)
  • Six small tasting cups (20ml/1 fl oz each)
  • A mesh strainer

The set is elegant, strong, and even dishwasher-safe. The case measures 17cm x 14cm x 8cm.

Delicate perfection

I have loved this set from the moment I opened it. I am using it as a lovely meditation and a way to deepen the enjoyment of tea. I am looking forward to deepening my study of the art with more Rare Tea offerings.

Best carrying case!

This is a darling gong fu cha set with the best carrying case I’ve seen for any travel set. My only criticism is the gong dao bei (fairness pitcher) I received with my set is not what is pictured here on the website. The one I received does not have the decorative handles to protect fingers from scalding. Although mine has a different design around the lip of the pitcher to hold while pouring, it’s not ideal and becomes very hot to handle. The decorative handles would have been more functional, as well as nicer looking. I bought this after I was notified of a restock. Perhaps the manufacturer changed their pitcher design. Hence, I gave the set 4 stars out of 5.

Delightful Little Travel/Tasting Set

I am so glad I purchased this travel tea set. Many times I thought of buying one, but quality was a concern. I knew I could trust Rare Tea, and I was right. Translucent pure white bone china that allows the lovely tea colors to show. Love it!
