Unlike some herbal remedies you definitely won't need to hold your nose or try to gulp down our wellbeing teas. We hope you will sip these blends of natural tea and pure herbs with great pleasure.
They are all composed of sustainably grown loose leaf teas and herbs that have been grown naturally without chemical pesticides and herbicides. They come to you loose without any industrially made teabags of any kind. No matter how biodegradable (or not) they may be, all tea bags must be manufactured; a tree doesn't turn into paper by magic or corn into a plastic mesh which involves industrial chemicals. So feel your best and know that the tea you drink is not having a negative effect on the world around you.
Types of wellness teas & blends
At Rare Tea Company, all our loose leaf tea and herbs are grown under organic farming principles to be both good for you and good for the planet. Every one of our teas have been selected for their incredible flavour and we strongly believe that they will enhance your sense of wellbeing. However, we have created some blends made specifically to make you feel good when you need to be soothed, need a pick-me-up, or are recovering from ill health or overindulgence.
How can tea help improve your sense of well being?
Tea can help improve our sense of well-being in many important ways and it's not just specifically "wellbeing teas" - our entire range of loose leaf teas and herbal infusions can improve your life immeasurably.
First, they are delicious. Loose-leaf tea, crafted by artisans from the best tea gardens in the world, tastes so much better than industrial teabags. Delicious flavour can rejuvenate our sense of pleasure, improving our wellbeing.
Which ever way you enjoy your tea, whether it's at your desk while you work or having a tea break to savour the moment, tea is always a delicious solace.
The act of making and drinking tea can become a ritual - bringing a moment of tranquility and serenity in a world that often feels chaotic. Stopping for a moment to enjoy a really delicious tea is an easy and delicious act of self-care.
Sharing a pot of tea is a good way to connect with those around us, from friends and loved ones to the wider global tea community. Connection and mindfulness enhance our wellbeing, from the people who grow and craft it to those we share our precious leaves with. Exploring the endless variety of tea is an exciting adventure. Each cup transports us to another world of taste and terroir.
Tea can also improve our sense of wellbeing through its potential health benefits. Tea offers rich antioxidants that can boost our immunity. Herbal teas, being caffeine free, offer soothing properties and promote relaxation to unwind before bed. Each tea offers unique natural compounds that can enhance our wellbeing. But please do beware of dubious health claims - there is no such thing as detox tea. If you are interested in rejuvenating or detoxing options, there is no specific tea that will achieve this, although tea can certainly be part of a healthier lifestyle.
The gentle lift that tea offers has balance, with the combination of L-theanine and caffeine - unlike the energy spike and crash that is associated with coffee. A more gentle, yet sustained high, from tea boosts our productivity and enhances focus throughout the day. It has been used for thousands of years by Buddhist monks during meditation.
Unlike other energy drinks, which are laden with industrial fruit flavourings, additives and sweeteners, tea is a natural plant. If you drink pure, loose leaf tea you know exactly what you are drinking, with nothing detrimental to your health. Teabags, however are industrially produced with chemicals, solvents, glues and bleaches, and are more often than not nano-plastic. Not knowing what you're drinking along with your tea, is rather disturbing.
Our entire range of delicious loose leaf teas and herbs are available for subscription on our site, so you never have to worry about running out of the good stuff. And the lovely thing about buying online, for yourself, or as gifts (including tea accessories), is that you can get your orders sent almost anywhere in the world, for delivery where you need it most. Not just at home or the office but for holidays or business travel.
What is the best tea for weight loss?
There is no such thing as weight loss tea. There is no verifiable scientific evidence to suggest that any specific tea actively helps weight loss. You may find health claims and dubious information on Instagram and across social media and online about wellness teas and weight loss, but they are largely unsubstantiated and very often misleading.
All of our beautiful, organically grown loose leaf teas and herbs are calorie free. Any tea or herb from our collection can be used as part of a weight loss program, to potentially make a difference, among other factors, in a healthier lifestyle.
What is the best tea before bed?
The best tea before bed is our Soothe-Me blend. Not just to aid a restful night's sleep, but for when you need a moment of calm or to relieve stress. We recommend any herbal infusion at bedtime because they are free from caffeine (except Coffee Leaf).
What is the healthiest tea?
The healthiest tea is loose leaf tea. It does not come in an industrially produced teabag. To turn a tree into paper, corn or plastic into "silken" mesh tea bags doesn't happen by magic. It takes industrial solvents, glues, bleaches, and nano-plastics to produce these bags. These chemicals don't vanish from your tea, you drink them in your tea. For this reason, since we began in 2004, we have always and only sold loose leaf tea and herbal infusions that have been organically grown. From English Breakfast and Earl Grey to Green Tea, Chamomile or Rooibos, our selection of teas and herbs is always loose leaf, and our environmental policies have never changed. The healthiest tea, for us and our planet, is grown under organic farming principles. At Rare Tea we strongly believe that the healthiest tea is unadulterated and pure.
How to brew your tea?
To infuse your tea, there are three basic principles - leaf to water ratio, temperature and infusion time.
But we offer a recommended infusion guide for each of our teas. By experimenting with different ratios, temperatures, and infusion times, the quality of every tea pot or cup makes for a unique experience each time.
