We are an entirely independent UK business and we work directly with our farmers not middlemen or brokers.

Teabag sales are dropping, yet, loose leaf tea sees a steady increase. Consumers are ready.

Even some of the big seven who rule the tea trade are aware of this and they have started buying up smaller tea brands to make them their marketing & CSR focus. Yet, they are still using their buying power to dominate the market in the same way.

  • Environmental Policy

    We only work with farms committed to an organic approach to farming – no herbicides or pesticides.
    By drinking loose leaf tea, we can help reduce waste and the unnecessary use of plastics and industrial chemicals that are used in production of teabags.

  • Direct Trade

    We do not buy from brokers and there are no middlemen. Real relationships, both with the farms and our customers, are essential to Rare Tea.
    We buy for quality and not price, valuing our farmers as much as our customers.

  • Rare Charity

    A direct percentage of revenue raised from tea sales will go directly to funding scholarships for disadvantaged youth in Malawi. Find out more about Rare Charity’s work here.

Henrietta, our Rare Tea Lady, regularly consults and presents TV documentaries, radio and magazine and in 2019 she wrote her first book ‘Infused – Adventures in Tea’ to share her tea journey through stories of people and places she has collected along the way.
