An incredibly smooth and comforting black tea, with exquisite honey aromas from Bhutan's first commercial tea garden. Grown at 1,800 metres in the Bhutanese Himalayas by a collective of 34 women farmers.

This tea has the bright freshness of a beautifully made spring tea from the world's only carbon-negative country, the Land of the Thunder Dragon.

Flavours of chocolate, oat biscuits (reminiscent of Hobnobs for the British out there), and roasted pineapple. It has the bright freshness of an exquisitely crafted spring tea with a smooth, rich depth of character. How to infuse your tea is very personal, and these are just our recommendations based on experience. Please experiment with these variables to your heart's delight. These are our recommendations, not hard and fast rules. The most delicious tea is the one you love.

Our guide uses a standard tea cup size (150ml/5.5 oz) as a measure, please adjust the quantity of leaf accordingly for less or more water. Our whole loose leaves are of such a high quality that you can infuse our teas at least twice, and the second infusion is often better than the first, with different flavours revealed as the leaf softens. If you prefer your tea stronger, add more leaf, don’t leave it for longer (this will just make it bitter).

With carbon-negative status enshrined in Bhutan’s constitution, this terroir is possibly unmatched in organic agriculture and immaculate environmental purity.

Samcholing is a smallholder Cooperative in Bhutan, run by 34 women tea farmers. Together they grow, harvest and craft Bhutan's first commercial tea, from the world’s first carbon-negative country.

Nestled in the high Himalayas at 1,800 metres above sea level, the Samcholing Tea Cooperative is a remarkable terroir spanning approximately 80 hectares of organically grown gardens. What makes this tea truly extraordinary is its heritage: every plant has been grown from seeds traced back to just five original bushes found in the garden of Bhutan's second King.

Led by the indomitable Rinchen Lhamo, the Samcholing cooperative was founded with a clear and powerful purpose - to make world class tea while fulfilling a wider societal purpose: to empower local women, promote equal income, and secure sustainable livelihoods for their families.

The tea is handpicked and hand-crafted in one of the world's most pristine natural environments. It is grown organically among ancient forests with an unwavering commitment to quality and sustainability.
