This dark loose leaf tea (also known as Houjicha) started life as a green loose leaf tea – but has been skilfully roasted to turn late pick Sencha into something extremely special.

Some of the catechins and caffeine are lost in this roasting, softening the tea in every way. The flavour is very soft and smooth, lacking astringency and tannin.

It still has caffeine, but it's lower than green tea making it a good tea for the evening, great with and after dinner. It has a soothing yet rather stimulating effect.

Soft, toasty caramels with nutty, umami notes.

30p per cup based on 2g of tea per 150ml of water and 2 infusions.

In most instances we will give you a full refund of the item’s cost excluding postage. We may ask you to return the item to us.
