What is blossom tea?
Our blossom teas are a collection of herbal infusions made from dried flowers and blossoms. Other teas called blooming or blossom teas might include chrysanthemum or osmanthus - but these are for display rather than flavour, used in shop windows or for events.
We have found that these other blooming flower teas have too high a ratio of tea to water for drinking on their own. By the time the infusion unfurls, it has a tendency to overbrew, or is bland in flavour.
What are blossom flower teas good for?
Blossom flower teas are good for deliciousness. They have no caffeine, so they wonβt keep you awake at night- they can make a lovely after dinner drink.
How do you brew flower tea?
Use boiling water - you donβt need that much. With only 6-8 flowers of our Spanish Almond Blossom, you can get a few infusions - so a little goes a long way.
We have many lovely flower and blossom teas to choose from. The Japanese sakura is a cherry blossom tree - our cherry blossom is from Jun Chiyabari tea garden in Nepal, from the Rumjache tree, with delicious notes of marzipan, cherry and vanilla.
We also recommend trying white blossom tea - make your own by adding our Rare Spanish Almond Blossom to an infusion of White Silver Tip. While we do not currently offer a pure jasmine herbal infusion, our Jasmine Silver Tip has the delicious aroma of jasmine flowers.
Many tea lovers also enjoy adding lavender to their flower tea - if you do, please add it in very sparingly - because it easily overpowers the other flavours in the infusion.
Can you make cold infusions with blossom tea?
Yes, they are subtle and rather delicious.Β They are also flavour stable, so theyβll last longer.Β Hot infusions of blossom tea need to be drunk in a day or so. Cold infusions will last longer. Different flavours also emerge with a cold infusion.
For example, our Hibiscus makes a delicious hot or cold infusion, with distinct flavours in each.
Is it ok to drink flower tea every day?
Yes, unless you have a nut allergy.Β In which case, please donβt drink our Spanish Almond Blossom tea.Β
Can kids drink flower tea?
Yes, kids can drink flower tea because they do not contain caffeine - but please do not drink our Spanish Almond Blossom herbal infusion if you have nut allergies.
Kids especially love flower tea because they look pretty (our Indian Rose Petals are simply stunning).Β
Do tea flowers contain caffeine?
Our flower teas do not contain caffeine. However, if you have a nut allergy, please do not drink our Rare Spanish Almond Blossom, because it is the flower of a nut tree - so please exercise caution with nut allergies.
Otherwise, our tea flowers are a delicious herbal infusion for any time of day or night.
