An elegant Chinese green loose leaf tea from Jinhua, Zheijang province.

It’s extremely well suited for cold infusions - the long, slow, cold extraction elevates the softer grassy notes.

When infused as a hot tea it is bright with intense green flavours.

Cold infusion - sweet and grassy with soft vegetal notes and a silky mouthfeel. Hot infusion - still sweet, but more pronounced and bold vegetal notes with a syrup-like mouthfeel.

Recommended Infusion Guide

  • Quantity

    As a refreshing cold infusion, for the best results use 0.2 oz of leaf per 35.5 fl oz of water.

    For a hot infusion use 0.1 oz of leaf per 5.5 fl oz of water.

  • Temperature

    For a cold infusion, use room temperature filtered water, and place in the fridge after mixing.

    For a hot infusion use 158°F water.

  • Time

    Cold: infuse for 8 hours (or overnight).

    For a hot infusion, steep for 1 - 2 minutes, tasting regularly.

  • Infusions

    You can infuse this tea at least twice. With each careful infusion, different subtleties of flavour are revealed.

How to infuse your tea is very personal, and these are just our recommendations based on experience. Please experiment with these variables to your heart's delight. These are our recommendations, not hard and fast rules. The most delicious tea is the one you love.

Our guide uses a standard tea cup size (150ml/5.5 oz) as a measure, please adjust the quantity of leaf accordingly for less or more water. Our whole loose leaves are of such a high quality that you can infuse our teas at least twice, and the second infusion is often better than the first, with different flavours revealed as the leaf softens. If you prefer your tea stronger, add more leaf, don’t leave it for longer (this will just make it bitter).

Misty Green Tea comes from the mountains of Jinhua, Zheijang province, at the heart of some of the finest tea growing regions in the world, with Hangzhou to the North and Fujian and Anhui to the South.

The region is deeply forested and over 80% of the terrain is hillside and mountain. The high altitudes and subtropical climate result in warm temperatures and delicate mists that protect and nurture the tea.

Farmed according to ancient tradition, without chemical fertilisers, pesticides or insecticides, this is a beautifully clean, bright tea.

Favourite tea in warm weather

I have purchased Chinese Misty Green Tea many times. I think of it when the weather starts to warm up and I infuse it overnight in the fridge with rose petals from my garden. On a hot day it's just the loveliest, refreshing drink.

an elegant stand-out green tea

An excellent tea - both cold infused and hot. We infused with sparkling mineral water to make tea champagne - fantastic. Made as usual, with hot water, and it's an elegant stand-out green tea.
