This beautiful Himalayan harvest has been selected uniquely to be infused as an iced tea.Β
A highly floral and fragrant black loose leaf tea from the Lakyrsiew Tea Garden, in the high forested region of Meghalaya, India.Β From the foothills of the Himalayas in an area known in the local dialect as βthe abode of cloudsβ this tiny garden produces some of the most rare and unique tea in the world.
Β
The finer cut of the leaf, in comparison to our Indian Cloud Black Tea , allows for a rather sublime cold infusion.

Tasting Notes
Light floral notes are balanced by deep chocolate and bright, soft citrus with a rich malty sweetness. This iced tea is perfect on its own without the need for any additives or sweeteners. π HIGH IMPACT TEA
While all of our teas are the best available from around the world, this tea makes a vital socioeconomic impact on the community that grows and crafts it.
With these high-impact teas, we are shining a light on the people who most need our support.
A prosperous nation like Japan, with a long history and strong domestic market, commands great prices for great tea. Land, labour and expertise are highly valued. Demand for the most famous teas often outstrips supply and buyers compete to get their hands on the best.
For less fortunate economies, where even safe drinking water is not a given, tea is an export. Origins are obscured. Terroirs hidden. If all we are shown is a packet and a brand with no connection to the people and place it comes from, we remain ignorant of its impact.
Many people do not know that much of the tea they drink comes from places like Malawi in East Africa. They are unaware that land, labour and expertise are given little value; that their tea is traded as a commodity by giant multinational agribusinesses, bought for low cost and high quantity over quality; that the farmer has no control of the price. Nor do they know that people in tea communities often do not live beyond their 50s.
It is our business to change that, to establish a value market for their incredible craft and amazing terroirs, much like fine wine.

More infusion tips
How to infuse your tea is very personal, and these are just our recommendations based on experience. Please experiment with these variables to your heart's delight. These are our recommendations, not hard and fast rules. The most delicious tea is the one you love.
Our guide uses a standard tea cup size (150ml/5.5 oz) as a measure, please adjust the quantity of leaf accordingly for less or more water. Our whole loose leaves are of such a high quality that you can infuse our teas at least twice, and the second infusion is often better than the first, with different flavours revealed as the leaf softens. If you prefer your tea stronger, add more leaf, donβt leave it for longer (this will just make it bitter).
For the most sublime flavour, we recommend infusing in cold water overnight β which creates the most nuanced and elegant flavour by slow extraction and is completely flavour stable in the fridge for 3-4 days. The cut is fine to increase the surface area β ideal for this long, cold method.
For an iced tea to sip without anything added, like a chilled glass of wine, please use 6g per 1 litre of cold filtered water.
If you are looking for something stronger and adding a lot of ice (which dilutes the tea) or perhaps you are using it as a lengthener for a cocktail (on non-alcoholic drink) then please increase it to 10g or 12g per litre. As with all our tea do please experiment a little to get it exactly the way you like it.
It can also be infused hot and left to chill for a more tannic bite. (In this instance it should be used within one day).
Lakyrsiew Tea Garden
Meghalaya, India
ABODE OF CLOUDS
The best of both Assam and Darjeeling
Deep in the densely forested region of Meghalaya, India, lies the tiny Lakyrsiew tea garden.
In the local dialect Meghalaya is called "the Abode of Clouds" so we call this Cloud Tea. It lies between Assam and Darjeeling and this tea really has the best of both. Light and floral as a Darjeeling with the rich caramel and malty notes you get from the best Assam.
This tiny garden produces tea in very small amounts because their concern is always quality over volume.
RARE TEA FLASK
Take your iced tea to another level
Our Rare Tea Flask is the perfect accompaniment to cold infusing iced tea.
Featuring extra tough double-walled borosilicate glass (BPA free) to keep your tea hot or cold, a stainless steel filter that can be removed for easy filling, and to top it off (sorry) a sustainable bamboo lid.
It's equally at home with hot or cold infusions, and will keep your tea at the correct temperature for several hours!
Strong enough to go in a daily bag and smart enough to be on your desk, this will take your iced tea to the next level.
