Excellent all round breakfast tea

I first tasted this wonderful tea at a great little cafe in Primrose Hill and I haven’t looked back since that day. Yes it’s quite a bit more expensive than regular tea, but in this life you get what you pay for and I am happy to pay for this level of quality and ethics. It has a very delicate, malty flavour, but by no means tastes weak.

A really nice, proper cup of tea

This is a really nice, proper cup of tea. Like all Rare Teas I've tried it has a clarity in its flavour that is lovely.

Great tasting loose leaf tea

There is something clean and fresh about good loose leaf tea, and that's what this is. I chose this because I like standard breakfast tea at any time of the day. I came to the Rare Tea Company from RAFA, the veterans charity that I support. I am delighted to purchase from this company with ethical values all along their production process.

Mr

The RAFA loose tea has been a long time in its reemergence. Its getting harder to find quality smooth loose tea. I enjoy this tea its smooth slightly naturally sweet that needs no milk or sugar. I drink it when ever I need a lift during the day/night.

Delicious RAFA Breakfast tea

A wonderful breakfast tea with layers of flavours including the robust malty taste I need in a breakfast tea and a delightfully uplifting fruity/floral taste. A great way to wake up the palate in the morning! I brew it at 95 degrees C for 2 mins and add a drop of milk.

Tasting Notes

A more delicate flavour than a modern Breakfast tea, it has soft florals balanced by smooth, malty notes.

Quantity

Use 2.5g of tea per 150ml of water.

Temperature

For the optimum infusion use 85°C (185°F) water.  If you enjoy your tea with milk, please use water at 100°C (212°F).

Time

Infuse for 1 - 2 minutes, tasting regularly.

Infusion

You can infuse this tea at least twice. With each careful infusion, different subtleties of flavour are revealed.

Cost Per Cup

15p per cup based on 2.5g of tea per 150ml of water and 2 infusions.
