Beautiful flavour

Absolutely love this chamomile tea! It's my first time trying and I can't imagine going to any other company. It's so good that my wife even starting having it with me and now we have a cup every night before bed, which we both agree helps us sleep better

Excellent

We have tried a few different sellers but have settled on these lovely flowers from Rare Tea Co. They have a subtle taste with a hint of lemon. We typically have three infusions - the first at 70C for 1 min, then 75C for 90s and finally 80C for around 2 mins. This provides 3 nice cups before bed! I would thoroughly recommend the leaves and our recipe!

Highly recommend

I’ve been supporting the rare tea company for years and by far all options from herbal teas are my favourite - chamomile is one on of these that comes regular list when shopping. It is especially good when you feel a bit under the weather or feeling stressed. I usually add two spoon of Manuka honey and it is delicious. I highly recommend Rare Tea Company not only in order to support company itself but most of all the farmers who harvest those incredible teas from all over the world - Supporting sustainability is the way forward.

Tasting Notes

Clean and subtle, these flowers are also wonderfully calming and, of course, caffeine free.

How to make chamomile tea

The general rule of thumb is that all herbs should be infused at 100°C, to dissolve the essential oils. After long experimentation looking for the best flavour extraction, we found that chamomile (like tea), contains bitter compounds. The best flavours are released at lower temperatures – treat it like a green tea and infuse at 70°C. This brings out the sweetness and leaves all the bitterness behind.

Chamomile is the only exception to the herbal rule.

Quantity

Use 2g of flowers per 150ml of water.

Temperature

For the optimum infusion use 70°C (158°F) water.

Time

Infuse for 1 - 2 minutes, tasting regularly.

Infusions

You can infuse these herbs at least three times.  With each careful infusion, different subtleties of flavour are revealed.

Cost Per Cup

16p per cup based on 2g of tea per 150ml of water and 3 infusions.
