Lovely English Breakfast Tea from Malawi

I bought this tea from Waitrose. An excellent tea from Malawi. Clear cut taste, earthy, slightly sweet aftertaste. No need for milk. A tea for all occasions.

Most delicious loose English breakfast tea ever

We absolutely love the smooth taste of the tea and pure it tasted with no residue in the water. We highly recommend it to anyone who really loves good tea.

Love at first sip- Amor a primer sorbo

This English breakfast tasted very different from others, but in a good way, its notes of malt and toasted caramel were a delight to my palate, very little or no astringency, I really loved it. So glad I purchased this delicious tea.

English breakfast : the way it should be

Malty, rich, complex and layered flavours. Equally fabulous with or without a milk of your choice. English breakfast : but better.

Grew on me

I'm new to proper tea, having previously ***** industrial tea in industrial quantities, using tea bags. I've been tasting various English Breakfast blends, mostly from major brands. This is most certainly something different, very clean tasting, and I got the maltiness. What surprised me was its relative weakness compared to what I'm used to, I even dis-obeyed Henrietta for my second steeping, and allowed it three minutes. This hit the spot, though I've read reviews extolling the virtues of shorter brews. I love this tea, and will buy more, but for everyday breakfast cuppas it is probably too expensive in the quantities I use, and will be saved for Sunday breakfasts etc. That's builders for you.

Tasting Notes

Deep, rich and malty, it has notes of caramel and burnt sugar. Delicious black, becoming sweet and chocolatey with the addition of milk.

Quantity

Use 2.5g of tea per 150ml of water.

Temperature

For the optimum infusion use 85°C (185°F) water.  If you like milk, please use water at 100°C (212°F).

Time

Infuse for 1 - 2 minutes, tasting regularly.

Infusion

You can infuse this tea at least twice. With each careful infusion, different subtleties of flavour are revealed.

Cost Per Cup

16p per cup based on 2.5g of tea per 150ml of water and 2 infusions.
