A meticulously hand-crafted Chinese green tea that has been made in the same way for over 3000 years. Pure, clean, soft and elegant. The antithesis of industrial, mass produced green tea.

Probably the best Chinese Whole Leaf Green Tea I’ve had in decades. Full credit to Rare Tea.

Beautiful and Delicate

I first came across this tea in my local Waitrose about 5 years ago and followed the instructions with a thermometer in a stainless steel pan and brewed it for Sixty seconds and the result was utterly refreshing. When I recently spoke to a Chinese friend he asked the teas name, when I said White Monkey Paw he replied that is one of China's finest teas. Well worth trying if you have never tried it but use filtered water if you can. Thanks Henrietta.

Light and delicate

Hm, this tea is very close to a white tea, light and delicate - far from the punch of a japanese sencha. Its a good tea and should be on your shortlist if you want balance to your collection.

Cost Per Cup

22p per cup based on 2g of tea per 150ml of water and 2 infusions.

Anshun, Guizhou

Our phenomenal Green Whole Leaf comes from the Anshun area of Guizhou in the South West of China. The area is remote and largely unspoilt with abundant forests and cloud cover draping the mountains - making it the ideal terroir for tea.
