Excellent

Yes, the tea was excellent, and I deliberately ordered the black tea, as I prefer this style for my morning cuppa. Fitted the bill excellently

Hooked

First tried at an afternoon tea in London and really enjoyed it. Have since bought this several times and this is one of my favourite drinks. I would recommend it to anyone.

A real pleasure

This is the first tea I've tried that really is delicious without milk. I have those old habits and whilst I know that milk subdues the flavour of tea and it negates the health benefits I am finding it difficult to kick the habit. This one, though, I choose to have black. So if you are a tea with milk addict and want to ease into tea without milk, try this one. A real pleasure

Wonderful Waikato

Sweet, Spicy, Syrupy.... Everything I want from a black tea. Best brewed Gong Fu style, high leaf to water ratio. Makes for a fantastic cold brew in the summer months too. All credit to those who persued this innovation and allowed these plucky seedlings to survive and thrive in New Zealand!

Smooth wake up call

Dear me, I drink tea a lot and have had some excellent ones from Rare Tea before. Still I am utterly surprised and delighted drinking this Waikato Black. I have drawn three infusions and don’t know which to recommend more; the 1 minute first cup was smooth, silky, but the second (2,5 minute) let me find that biscuity taste. Now the third (almost 4 minute) infusion is adding some greener, moss notes. I can’t wait to try the cold infusion as suggested by another satisfied customer.

Tasting Notes

This whole leaf black tea has a full-bodied biscuity mouth feel that’s both distinct and gentle. Notes of gingerbread and late summer honey.
