Rare White Petal Tea Loose Leaf White Tea

Regular price £10.99
(37p per cup)

A scintillating combination of rose petals, almond blossom and white silver tip loose leaf tea brings an experience that is somehow greater than the sum of its parts.

Expertly blended by Henrietta as a love letter to the taste of Spring. The flavour truly delights the senses with every sip. Truly extraordinary.

This blend easily makes two or more infusions. The second cup is even more delicious than the first as the leaves and petals have softened, allowing the water to penetrate more deeply.

This blend contains the flower of a nut tree (Almond Blossom) - please exercise caution with nut allergies.

My favourite tea in summer

When this tea was newly available, I saw the picture on the starting page and I immediately thought, that I want to drink it. Right now. As international delivery is usually slower than 'right now', I had to be creative. What to do? Blend it myself. I had recently purchased the indian rose petals, which is the best rose tea I ever had. I also had some almond blossoms left, which by themselves don't stand out much as a tea, but rather infuse the world's best water. Last ingredient left, was the white silver tip. I was running a bit low and had just enough for a can, so I went for it. And I did not regret doing that. The first infusion was dominated by the rose smell and taste, maybe I added a bit more than the original blend has. In the later infusions the white tea came out better and it was just amazing. On the one hand, very light taste, but at the same time incredibly rich. I might sound like it doesn't make sense, but that's how I felt. I immediately ordered some of the original RTC blend and I am regularly drinking it now. It is my favourite tea in summer, by far. Works very nicely as a cold infusion. RTC recommendation is, to use 6g/l and wait 8h. I usually use 8g/l and drink the first infusion after an hour, then let it infuse again overnight. Extra tip: It's surprisingly nice to accompany a cigar.

Subtle

I love this tea, it's light, subtle and tastes like Spring. it's needs a long steep before the taste really comes out but worth the wait. I drink it with a tiny bit of honey - bliss!

Just what I needed for relaxing afternoons

Delicate, bright, elegant. Reminds me of spring and morning flowers after light rain.

Gentle, Fragrant, Beautiful

Delicious, mild, gentle, fragrant. The rose scent/flavor pairs beautifully with the white tea. The leaves are whole! as they infuse they unfurl. I get at least two infusions.

Favorite Tea right now

Absolutely loved this blend. One of the most relaxing and elegant blends I have tried. The quality of the ingredients is spectacular and the mix of these ingredients is amazing. I wrote a review on this tea here: https://humming-tea.com/2021/02/21/rare-white-petal-tea/

Origin & Craft

The perfect base for this tea is comprised of Yunnan White Silver Tip, an unusual white tea from a region predominantly know for black tea and Pu'er. Just the first leaf buds of Spring are harvested and sun dried. No further processing takes place, leading to a beautiful dried leaf. This lack of processing leads to the leaf retaining higher levels of antioxidants than other teas. Naturally low in caffeine, Yunnan White Silver Tip also has much less tannin than an oxidised leaf, leading to a sweet and bright infusion.

Henrietta then blends the lovely Silver Tip Tea with radiant Spanish Almond Blossom, grown on a rocky hillside where olives and carob trees grow amongst the Marcona almonds, beside deep, fragrant orange groves. Each flower is picked individually then carefully air dried on a muslin bed to prevent the blossoms from bruising. Farmed organically and tenderly by our friend, Ferran Rojo Sol.

Lastly, a small amount of Gujarati Rose Petals (grown in an organic smallholder co-operative) are blended into the mix, launching this blend into the stratosphere.
