Regular price £10.99
(27p per cup)

A silky, fragrant blend of black loose leaf teas with delicate rose petals.

The rose petals give this tea a luxurious scent without drenching the leaf in synthetic perfumes. We use Indian rose petals and a blend of rich black tea from Malawi to give depth and bright floral top notes.

Rose Pouchong Tea

It took a while, when I first tried it, to get used to the flavour, but now I find it refreshing and soothing.

Elegant tea

Rose Pouchong tea by Rare Tea Company is of high quality and exceptional elegance.I love taste and scent of roses but am not so keen on bitterness in black teas ... So for me, getting the best from Rose Pouchong,I am learning the timing of the steep together with the right temperature. For me it's somewhere below 2 minutes.I have achieved 1 perfect cup so far ! Others have been a bit too bitter, still the rose petals are always enveloping ... and comforting. It's great with the best real cakes you can find or bake yourself !

Beautiful tea!

Not only does this tea look and smell beautiful, it tastes amazing as well. One of the best teas I've ever had! Treat yo self and buy some.

Tasting Notes

The rose petals give this tea a luxurious and perfumed taste.  Malty Assamica with floral Darjeeling and notes of Turkish delight.

Quantity

Use 2.5g of tea per 150ml of water.

Temperature

For the optimum infusion use 80°C (176°F) water.

Time

Infuse for 1 - 2 minutes, tasting regularly.  Best enjoyed without milk.

Infusions

You can infuse this tea at least twice.  With each careful infusion, different subtleties of flavour are revealed.

Cost Per Cup

27p per cup based on 2.5g of tea per 150ml of water and 2 infusions.

Origin & Craft

As a flavour pairing you may be surprised how well this tea goes with seafood. When the celebrated Danish Restaurant Noma went to Japan they made a truly sublime dish; dashi from rose petals into which the diner dipped noodles of finely sliced raw squid.

This inspired us to try our Rose Petal Tea with sashimi and the results were rather wonderful. Make a light infusion of just one minute to bring out just the elegant top notes and the softest scent of roses.
