All the taste, none of the calories.

Certain to satisfy both your tea and chocolate craving, this new blend combines the bright, fruity notes of organic Grenadan cacao nibs with the rich maltiness of handcrafted Malawi black tea.

Sourced directly from Grenada by our friends at Pump Street Bakery in Suffolk, the cacao beautifully complements the tea we have sourced directly from a small, independent estate in the Shire Highlands of Malawi. No artificial flavourings, just pure indulgence.

Does exactly what it says on the tin

Much more chocolaty that I had anticipated. It's for sure something to be enjoyed in smaller amounts as it's very rich. But if you're a chocolate fan and you want something that tastes very distinctive, this is for you.

Chocolate tea

This is the tea that started me using loose leaf tea - my daughter gave me a small pouch … and now I take some with me everywhere. Thanks Rare Tea Company!

CHOCOLATE TEA

I loved this product from the beautiful tin it arrived in to the ritual of infusing it, to the drinking of it. I found the richness of the tea immensely satisfying; it quenched a real tea thirst in me along with satisfying my taste for chocolate. A real treat and absolute joy of a tea. Thank you Rare Tea for a wonderful product.

Delicious and unexpected

This tea surprised me. I was expecting something similar to a truffle or dark chocolate bar. It is actually amazing black tea where the astringent flavor is balanced the chocolate. It turns out to be fresh and soft. If you are not told it has chocolate you will never guess it. You will be intrigued by its elegance.

Surprisingly satisfying

I didn;t know what to expect, but wasn't disappointed. It is very smooth and an indulgence. Definitely an afternoon tea.

Tasting Notes

"Deep, rich and malty, it has notes of caramel and burnt sugar. The addition of the cocoa nibs brings a huge richness to the proceedings, with a fuller mouthfeel and unmistakable chocolate hit. Hints of orange zest and blackberries. The nose is bold with the rich smell of high quality, earthy dark chocolate."

Pump Street Chocolate

Pump Street Chocolate

Our friends Pump Street Chocolate share our ideas about sustainability and sourcing - they import directly from single estates and cooperatives around the world. Provenance and process is key to their product. They source cacao from the best growers who ferment and dry the beans at origin. They then tailor our roasting, grinding and conching to yield the best tasting chocolate possible.

The cocao nibs in our new Chocolate Tea blend are from Crayfish Bay, Grenada. The land, 13 acres of which is under cocoa, has five natural springs and is steep so has natural drainage. The soil is acidic and has high organic content due to the constant defoliage of the cocoa.

We blended the nibs with a hand-crafted black tea blended from harvests across a small, independent estate in the Shire Highlands in Malawi.
